What’s new in Inventor LT 2017
New Inventor LT 2017 features include free-form editing tools with enhanced surface manipulation and enhanced drawing abilities for more user control. Export your design to 3D PDF format for easier collaboration.
Explore an alternate modelling approach by creating free-form shapes with tools and direct manipulation. Start with an existing design created with parametric modelling tools and then add free-form into the design. Use the Freeform Match Edge command to modify a free-form body to match an existing model or sketch geometry. Model concepts to create rough shapes when size and shape are not yet established.
Direct Edit functionality
Parametrically move, size, rotate and delete imported solid models or native Inventor 3D CAD software files. Use Direct Edit to quickly and precisely change parametric/feature part geometry in models with complex histories. Change imported base solid data and explore redesign possibilities early in the process, before you commit to a final design.
Startup and learning experience
Improved tools support an easier, more intuitive learning experience in the Inventor Home environment. Inventor Home functions as your personal dashboard and provides a single, central, in-product location for learning and help content. The Tutorial Learning Path guides you through the most common workflows for a solid foundation. Interactive tutorials cover the basics of Sketch, Parts and Drawings.
3D mechanical CAD
Design mechanical parts in 3D with powerful, part-level parametric modelling. Create simple and complex parts quickly. Visualise and verify part designs in 3D to avoid costly errors – before building expensive physical prototypes. Then, generate photorealistic renderings of 3D part models to communicate design intent to customers and other reviewers. Reduce re-work and cycle times to bring better products to market sooner.
DWG file format
Share 3D part designs and 2D to 3D multiCAD design data with customers and suppliers without relying on separate file translation software. Import, create, modify and export 3D part models in common file formats to streamline communication with your supply chain. As projects progress and downstream users need them, Inventor LT can generate production-ready DWG™ drawings that update automatically whenever the model changes.
Import and export third-party 3D CAD data
Work with third-party 3D CAD data, including non-native assemblies from customers and suppliers. Import and export 3D part models in common file formats without relying on separate file translation software. Easily share 3D design data with customers and suppliers, improving communication with your extended supply chain.
Combining training and learning, together with your software is essential. The individual or team that drives the design process must have the highest level of knowledge and product training so the business can leverage its full potential.

Smart. Flexible. Powerful. Autodesk Subscriptions.
Discover what Maintenance Subscription, Subscription, and Cloud Service Subscription can do for your budget, your people and your projects.
Autodesk Subscription gives you access to Autodesk software—the same full version you get with a perpetual license—but with a flexible, pay-as-you-go approach for a software budget that’s easier to manage.
Contract administrators grant access to subscription for single-user products and associated services by assigning a named user to a product. Each named user is an individual with a unique Autodesk ID. The number of named users you can assign per product is determined by the total number of licenses available for that product.
Supports a specific maximum number of users on computers connected to a network. Licenses are issued via Network License Manager (NLM) software utility to each user who starts an Autodesk product, up to the number of licenses purchased. Usually returns to NLM when a user closes all Autodesk products, which makes the license available to other users. NLM can be configured to allow a user to borrow a license and disconnect from the network until a specified return date—a borrowed license is only returned to NLM on or before the return date
Now you can access your tools via the Internet without tying up your desktop or maintaining software. Get access to select Autodesk cloud services for creating, editing, analysing, and sharing work through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription model.
